Description
BCH DEVCON is a global initiative focusing on fostering innovation within the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) ecosystem through a series of hackathons. Designed to encourage developers at all levels to build applications on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain, the project leverages BCH's advantages like low transaction fees and quick confirmation times to promote development of decentralized applications (dApps) and increase blockchain literacy. With events such as the first European Bitcoin Cash hackathon, participants have the opportunity to engage in a collaborative environment, competing in two tracks: the Bitcoin Cash Track, focusing on developing using BCH's features like OP codes, larger block sizes, the Wormhole protocol, tokenization, and smart contracts; and the General track, which allows for innovation on any blockchain platform, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and beyond, or even second layer solutions like the Lightning Network. The initiative underscores the importance of open-source development and aims to expand the Bitcoin Cash developer community, aligning with the vision of making the global financial system more efficient and accessible through blockchain technology.
